The participants of the training program were from all of the company’s operating countries. The small group training part of the program was implemented by Delficon in Finland. About 40% of this group had been advancing in their careers in half a year time. Delficon’s coaching started from a 360° analysis, where the trainee gets a personal assessment of his working style by his supervisor, his work colleagues and potential subjects. He also assesses himself.
“Delficon’s feedback was very positive, and the credibility of the coaches for achieving results was strong,” Riikka Walden told reporters. With Delficon, we were able to reach deep into each of our personal leadership skills, strengths and development areas.
In 2005, UPM-Kymmene chose Delficon as one of the partners in the UPM-Kymmene Leadership School, an International Programme for highly accredited young key actors. “The big international company has many cultures and exceedingly different operating environments. Leadership is at its purest when it’s “our way of working.” It’s like a brand that can’t be duplicated.” Said the HRD Coordinator Riikka Walden at the time. He was involved in developing the Group’s global educational portfolio and HRD processes.
